Vicky's Bio

I was born a long, long time ago in the south of England and immigrated here to the states on a ship with my bohemian parents.  My father was an oil painter and a pianist and my mother was a gardner.  My paternal grandfather was a musician and a sailor.. my maternal tgranderfat5her was a sailor too and on his side I am related somehow to Hugh Pasmore, a colleague of Wassily Kandinsky-- my favorite painter

I've done landscape design and installation, worked as a cook on a research ship, written a weekly gardening column for a newspaper and I've been drawing and painting my whole life, one way or another.  For the last 20 years, I've made my living by working as an artist, both selling my work and teaching.

Lately I have been contemplating writing a children's' book and my painting has acquired an illustrative quality-- a natural progression for me as I enjoy children and the happy chaos that surrounds them.  I hope to share some of that chaotic joy through my paintings, prints, painted clothes and decorative house items such as switch plate covers!
