\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Sunset Sunset Celebration is a nightly arts and crafts show which takes place on Mallory Square Dock (see map)<\/a> 365 days a year. Participating artists who have been approved can come to work as often or as little as they they like.<\/p>

Each night, about two hours before the sun sets, artists gather to chat and to pay their nightly fee (currently $20 a night) and choose their favorite sales locations for the night using a lottery system (There are always enough spaces for everyone). This happens at the kiosk on the side of the plaza opposite the ocean. After all the spots are chosen the artists go to their chosen spots and set up their displays. Soon the street performers start calling crowds to their shows and the pier fills up with tourists, the crowds shop with the artists, watch the shows, get food and some sit along the water to wait for the sunset. The event builds up to the time of the sunset and fades after dark.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

How to Join the Sunset Celebration as an artist<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Before an artist begins to sell at Sunset Celebration the organization needs to verify that they they are the person making the artwork that they’d be selling.<\/p>\n

The demonstration days happen on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every Month at 10 am at  Bayview Park (Click for a map)<\/a> <\/p>\n

 The purpose of the meeting is to see you demonstrate the crafting skills that you need to be producing the items you want to sell. In other words, you need to make one of your items on site. we do have electricity. We are also looking to see that the item is an appropriate item for our event. It’s good to call to verify the meeting before you come, just to be careful.<\/p>\n

If you wish to participate as an artist, crafts person, or a service provider (tarot card reader, henna tattoo, hair wrap, massage, etc.),  you must present your craft and crafting process to the participation Committee in person.<\/p>\n

If you you jury on a Monday, in most cases you will receive a decision within 24 hours and people who are accepted may begin to work.<\/p>\n

Set ups are available for non-profit organizations are available on a limited basis. For more information contact us at Sunmail@SunsetCelebration.org<\/a>.
