Hector Godoy- a short bio
Most of you know me as Héctor – what most don’t know is that since the age of fourteen, I have been earning my living in festivals such as the Sunset Celebration.
I would like to put my 30 years of experience to work for Sunset Celebration.
My agenda is simple: Keep it legal, keep it fair, keep it open to all artists and performers who want to play by the rules to benefit our Sunset Celebration.
For the last 30 years, I have been working with wood, bone, glass, metals, epoxy, resin, foam, trash, paint, stone, shells to create sculptures, masks, drums, murals, jewelry, souvenirs and trinkets. I worked around the world, South and Central America, Canada, Europe, North Africa and West Africa. I have worked in and on committees with the cities of Honolulu, Hawaii, Venice Beach, CA, Miami Beach, New Orleans, San Francisco, Berkeley, CA and San Diego, CA. I earned a Bachelors of Science in Mass Communications with an emphasis on Advertising from San Jose State University. I know how to produce and execute advertising campaigns, marketing analyses, commercials, brochures, press releases, etc. to lure foot traffic to Mallory Square.
I feel I have lots to offer to Sunset Celebration and I am looking forward to serving everyone who wants to see Sunset Celebration improve and be all that we can make it.
If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask me – you’ll find me at Sunset. Most likely I’ll be late but I’ll be around…
