Annie called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. in the Public Library. Annie called for the Secretary report. Greg asked if everyone had read their copies of the minutes, and if so, could the minutes be accepted or rejected without further reading of those minutes. Annie advised that would be appropriate, but she wanted a correction in them. She advised that she did not make a motion, as Chairman she cannot do that. It was the motion to accept the pier manager’s report. The minutes of January 3, 2002 have been corrected to read, “Greg made the motion”. Greg makes the motion to accept the amended minutes, and Susanne seconded. Minutes were passed unanimously.
Annie called for the treasurer’s report. Ed stated that as of today we have $22,230. We are holding to our average. Greg makes a motion to accept the treasurer’s report; Sabrina seconds it. Passed
Annie calls for the PC report. Wink informs the Board of the persons wishing to be juried, who they accepted and who they denied. Also that the persons wanting to be juried for Tarot Card Reading and Massage therapy were advised they would be put on a list. Also, the PC has instituted a new program whereby they give all accepted participants a copy of the Guidelines and a cover sheet explaining how things work. Susanne asks if the PC is working on caps. Wink advised that they were compiling a list of everyone who is juried and what they are juries for. A list of persons who are regulars but not working presently is also being made. They will leave the number of caps to the Board after they accumulate all of the data. A motion was made by Sabrina to accept the PC report, seconded by Ed, passed.
Annie called for the Performers Report. Michael Patrick advised that the performers are doing fine, no problems with the exception of the performers working more than 30 minutes. He advised all performers must only do 30 minutes, or they should get suspensions. Dave advised that he had suspended Rondini January 15, for one day due to working over his time limit. A motion was made Eddy to accept Performers report, Susanne seconds, passed.
Annie calls for the Pier Managers report. Dave advised that we were beginning to have a lot of trouble over by the restrooms again. There are drummers, and persons selling their wares during sunset hours. He advised that he was calling the police to take care of the problem. They told him to call Code enforcement. They said they would be checking on the problem for us. Dave suggests that the next time we negotiate the lease we should ask for that to be a part of our area. We could then control the problem ourselves. Dave states that a person named Dave called him and advised he was a reader and was ready to come down and work. He asked him if he had been juried and the fellow responded that Monica juried him. He advised him that he had to go before the PC. This took place in November of last year. He had not set up within the 30 days so he lost his chance anyway. Wink advised Dave to tell the person to appear before PC if he calls again. Wink will look up the paper work. Susanne wants to know whom the readers are that are going to assist when jurying the gray area participants. Annie asks for a motion to accept the pier managers report, motion made by Sabrina, seconded by Jan. Passed.

Board members will discuss this with Monica before the letter actually goes out.
New Business
Annie brings up the flags. Greg wants to get volunteers to assist with putting the flags up and taking them down each night. He suggests giving the people that do this, key 0 for set up. They will have to pay their fee but would get choice set up on the nights they do the service. Annie asks for a motion, Greg makes the motion, seconded by Jan seconded. Susanne asks if all participants would get Key 0, including Greg. All members agreed that this was the case. Motion passed.
Greg asks if we have a log book in the kiosk for the pier manager to make entries into. Dave advised that we do not but he would buy one right away and instruct the new pier manager to begin documenting the problems that arise on a nightly basis. Greg states that the performers are going over their time limits and would like the pier manager to log this in. Jan suggest that the pier manager state at the performers lottery that their shows will be timed. The board members will start timing the performers.
Greg asks that a raise be given to the pier cleaning person. He suggests a ten dollar a night raise. Other members suggest five dollars. Discussion asked if the Thursday night person would also get a raise. It was decided to keep Thursday night clean up person at $25 and come from petty cash. A motion is made Greg, seconded by Sabrina, passed. Susanne abstained for personal involvement.
Greg wants to discuss the pier lighting with Myra at the next meeting with her.
