E. Pier Managers Report

Pete states he has several questions.

He asks for garbage bags for the maintenance person and is informed to get them from the parking lot attendant. Next, questions how to fill up the pier with performers and artists. After lengthy discussion it is decided to put one large performer act on the pier, at the gates where the cruise ship docks. This will help to draw the crowd back to the pier at the end of the night for the last performance. Pete asks how many days for newcomer to regular status for performers? 60 day to 3 year category. Greg makes a motion that 3 yrs. means the end of 3 years with a participation of 90 days per year . They become a regular at that time. Sabrina seconds. Passed. Pete then asks that all performers and artists conflicts be brought to the attention of the pier manager and don’t create scenes on the pier. Unanimous approval from the board on this issue. Pete reads complaints and says he will not accept the bad behaviors any more. Pete states that he will never bring these issues to the board again he will handle the problems himself. The board once again reminds Pete that he has 100% backing from the board.

Ed makes motion to accept Pier Managers Report, Greg seconds. Passed.

Will Sotto arrives and adds to the Performers report. He informs us that the date for the benefit for the cancer victims of CPS and their families will be Monday, June 3 at the Waterfront Playhouse at 9 p.m.

F.Old Business

  1. Summer Solstice- Friday, June 21. Annie to make sure the date is cleared by the Playhouse. Joann Hasman will work on the Summer Solstice t-shirt logo. Meeting at the pier this Sunday 5:30 to talk about SS.

  2. Complaints re: Pat Lloyd and coconut complaints. Pat states she has repaid these. Pat has asked that all customers’ w/complaints be turned over to here. Pete says he will mediate and turn all the complaints over to Pat himself.

G.New Business

  1. Regular membership status for snowbirds in waiting. Tabled until documentation can be gathered for the next board meeting.

  2. Pretzel Ray wants to be allowed to set up on the pier with the same items he originally sold during the partnership with Dave. The partnership has been dissolved and Dave is now the occupant of the Key West Pretzel food vendor location on the pier. Ray is asking the board to help him resolve the issues facing him during the break up of this partnership. Annie states that there is no documentation on our books with Ray’s name on it and Rays name was never in the partnership papers for the pier location.

Unfortunately our organization cannot be involved in the legal issues between these two parties. Greg makes a motion to keep a food space available for Ray for 1 year from this date. He will be permitted to return to the pier as a regular food vendor as long as he is juried in for different food items than he originally sold with Dave. Ed seconds. Passed.

  1. Susanne states $500 was made from Conch Republic Days with $150.00 going to charity.

  2. Children’s area will be given an allowance of $100 to buy art supplies. Sabrina will take Carol to buy art supplies and provide receipts for such.

  3. Summer Solstice will be much lower scaled this year due to low funds.

  4. Pier manager was given a pay increase several years ago to include putting the flags up each night. Discussion on this issue and disagreement. Tabled

. Sabrina makes motion to adjourn. Ed seconds. Passed. Meeting Adjourned.
