The meeting was called to order at 11:05 am by Chairman, Isaac Valdes.

Secretary’s Report - distributed and read by board members. Joyce makes a motion to accept. Antonio seconds. Passed

Treasurer’s Report- 26,192 in bank. $400 in Putnam acct. Total 26,592.

September was a very slow month. We are switching banks to TIB. We will be hiring a private bookkeeper to replace H & R Block. The bookkeeper will work out of OJ Dave’s house.

Research is being done on $4080.00. There was a discrepancy between H&R Block, Wachovia Bank and CPS records.

We are having a major problem with H&R Block when it comes to retrieving records and other data. They are extremely incompatible to work with. Having a bookkeeper at Dave’s house will give us greater access to our account. Our big problem is with retrieving information in regards to charge backs from the credit card company. This information is 30 to 90 days delayed in being brought to our attention.

Payroll will be done by “Paychecks” at a cost of $80-$100 per month. One of the changes will be credit card checks will be issued bi-weekly.

Pete suggests paying employees as individual contractors and make them responsible for their own taxes.

Sabrina makes motion to change from H&R Block to the new system as described by Dave and Antonio. Antonio 2nds. Passed.

PC Report -- Ryan reads from the list of people who applied. Antonio makes a motion to accept. Will S. 2nds. Passed.

Performers Report- No performers are present to give the report. Will states that all is running smooth. Will speaks about a joint benefit between Mallory and the Hilton with Will doing a tight rope act between Hilton and Mallory. He will report back to us with further details and date. Possibly in November.

Pier Manager Report – Pete says the children are causing a lot of problems Pete wants parents to be more responsible. He would like to call a meeting of all parents with children. Suzanne suggests hiring a high school student to work with the kids. She will look into this.

Also, dogs must be on a leash at all times. Pete says owners of dogs will be suspended for not keeping them on a leash at all times. Too many times dog owners are not cleaning up after their dogs.

Pete discusses hiring a new part time pier manager. Annie wishes to pier manage but it is conflicting with the rules of CPS. She says she is not running for the Board next year and would like to have the job.

Motion by Will S. to allow OJ Dave to interview for a new part time pier manager. Joyce seconds. Passed.

New Business

Angela Excharos wants to be grandfathered. Annie makes a motion to give Angela “Grandfathered’ status. Will S. seconds. Passed.

Credit Card Machines- Pete to announce that everyone who intends to use the credit card privileges will be required to have a manual machine to swipe the card with. This is necessary because of recurring charge backs.

Robert, the glasswalker is requesting to set-up again. (He is not at this meeting). It is decided that he has to appear before the Board to request to come back.

Discussion begins on the Winkos. Don Sullivan, Shirley Sullivan and Sharrona are concerned that if we remove them there will be another lawsuit. The discussion continues for a great length of time with all concerns duly noted. (There were quit a bit of loud, out of control, verbal altercations occurring at this time so the minutes will not show all that was said).

An appeal was made by a new Henna Tattoo artist (Lucas). He was turned away from PC and has been trying for a year to get in and keeps being turned away. The Board and PC will meet on this issue at a later date.
