Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order by Don Sullivan at 10:10 am.

 

Secretary’s Report and Treas. Report are on the consent agenda. Suzanne motions to accept consent agenda. Sabrina seconds. Passed.

 

PC Report- Joel submits report and letter to Richard Bertocci. Sabrina motions to put letter from Joel on next agenda. PC also has some issues to be addressed at the next meeting. Antonio seconds. Passed.

Joann asks about proper wattage to be used by food vendors. Richard Bertocci is going to be informed by PC that he needs to be rejuried do to the fact he has been gone for 14 years and he has told other members of our organization that some of the work he is selling is not his.

 

Will Soto appeals his denial of selling t-shirts. The Board has appointed a committee to advise PC what they can and cannot allow performers to sell. They will meet immediately following this meeting. Committee members are: Ryan, Antonio, Susanne Jeep and Don.

 

Sabrina motions to accept PC report. Susanne seconds. Passed.

 

Pier Manager Report- Rex reports about how Xavier physically abused him after Xavier was given a suspension letter.

 

Rex was also struck in the back of the head by Darrell (Goldman) and Rex explains that incident. Elaine Del Pino states that as a witness she saw Darrell hit Rex. Darrell states he didn’t hit Rex.

 

Xavier and Darrell are warned there is zero tolerance for violence. Motion by Annie to allow Xavier to return to the pier under these terms. 1-year probation, he must rejury any and all items he wishes to sell. His table size can be no more that 8x6 and he must obey all the rules of our organization. Vote 3 yes 2 no 1 abstain. Passed.

 

Sabrina motions to accept Pier Manager Report. Antonio 2nds. Passed

 

No performer report.

 

 

Motion by Mike S to disband the Executive Committee. Annie seconds. Passed.

 

 

Motion by Annie of no amplified spots on pier EXCEPT in the 2 designated music spots. Portable music shows allowed ( Small boom box for background effects during a show only). The pier manager will control volume. Susanne seconds, Passed.

 

This new guideline change will go to the City with guideline changes in regards to performers selling their items.

 

Parking Pass Committee. Isaac, Michael, Sabrina, Annie and Antonio. Sept 7 is the City Commission meeting that this issue will be addressed at.

 

Henna Tattoo’s- Henna artists will post a disclaimer in re to the affects of black henna on the skin.
