  1. Old Business

Conch Republic Street Fair/Summer Solstice Event: more information will be coming next meeting they are meeting with maria and waiting on info from Doug.

general membership meeting: we decided to push the meeting back because we didn't have any suggested rule changes. Elise made a motion that we move the meeting to may 1st mark seconded, passed.

Leadership training course: Ryan will call to find out of we are accepted.

The Joe Walsh restaurant was discussed, they are calling the edge of the pier the water line, and this gives them extra piece of our property. They are having a meeting tonight about this. There are new drawings of the building we haven't seen. They are saying they want music. We are concerned that the construction will be ugly. There is some concern about the historic cable being destroyed. Leanne and Elise will go, to the meeting. Leanne has concerns such as; where is the construction, where is debris, will trees be planted, will tables be outside, how long for construction? Will their be music? Will our event be interfered with? Maybe we should meet with Joe Walsh.

Many issues are already cut and dry such as how big is their property. We may loose the steel fence. And have the backs of our displays to the restaurant. We called Joe Walsh, he agreed to meet with us in 20 minutes.

  1. New Business

fund raising art camp: Susanne and Elise met with the art and historical society, there is a new guy in charge. They wanted to offer opportunities for kids. We might help the kids decorate a different panel each week. And then bring the panels as a mural to Mallory square to be displayed. We talked about putting it along the fence line at the south side of the pier. It could be unveiled at the solstice event and the art fair. We could create an ongoing relationship with these people they are a positive organization, with a lot of connections. They have met twice and will meet again.

Mark made a motion the adjourn the meeting at 11:14 John seconded. Motion passed.

Joe Walsh came to the meeting

He is hoping to plant planters or trees int he plaza area. restaurant space would be where the pizza space was they need to rebuild it. They have to be 8 feet off the ground to meet fema requirements. The height of the building has been an ongoing complex issue. We aren't concerned about the height variance.

How long construction... on year...they were hoping to use some area around the hospitality house for staging he does not “believe” they will stage in the plaza. We are concerned about construction during sunset, he said there will be construction up too sundown. He says he would like to be a good neighbor but he can't stop all construction. Noisy pile drivers he could stop during sunset time. He can limit interfering types of construction, concrete dust.. things like that.. but not stop quiet things like stucco or painting.

Tifts Ally we hope that we can keep the ally clear during the event, and not driving trucks around during our event. He agreed.

Hoping to start construction in 3 or 6 months because he expects an appeal will cause a delay of that much. Then a year of construction.

Planters would be in the area near the restaurant between restaurant and conch fritter. No eating area there. We are afraid amplifiers we are concerned about loud music. His objective is to maximize dinner hours. He did not address the concern of live music. He can't commit to avoid entertainment. He calls it a business decision. He is not focused on the planter area. For music. He is creating a restaurant not a night club and blaring music is not the goal. this will not me a loud music bar style restaurant.

he is hoping to make the area more inviting to keep people around they may have a lunch we might set up sales booths around it for that time

the walk way won't be changed because of an agreement with the Westin. Wrought iron gate may come down..

They won't be in construction in June. So we can do mural project on south fence.

The second cable housing is going to have the cable incorporated inside the restaurant, but it looks expensive, if fema allows the cable to be kept, they will. but it might be an engineering nightmare. we asked to Please don't just throw the historic cable away.

We gave some feedback on the planters some positive feedback.

the name of the restaurant will be the Mallory fish company.
