Typed by Ryan Stimers
Attendance: Ryan Stimers, Elaine DelPino, Susanne Buxton, Myles Hupp, Michael Liguori
We juried 3 new people:
Liset Leyun is accepted for her wire and string earrings and her beaded ankle bracelets pending a home jury by Ryan and Susanne. Paid $20
Barbara Lomba is accepted for her "Body cooling Scarves" which are machine sewn scarves with a non toxic polymer inside which can soak up water. These are soaked in water and worn around the neck to cool people. She will allow people to soak the scarves which they have already purchased in her water bucket. Paid $20
Bruce Norville / Brent Jordan are approved as partners for palm weaving pending home jury by mike and someone else. We mentioned that it would be better if they charged a regular price for their products rather than a "sliding scale" Did not pay, owes $20.
We did 2 "add a products"
Jan Nelson is approved for her Hand painted T shirts
Buffard is approved for Palm Reading (see note regarding caps below)
We discussed the following issues:
we counted the number of regular palm readers on the pier and decided that there weren't enough to justify a cap. So we would like to raise the cap on palm reading. The remaining caps will be. Beaded Jewelry made from commercial beads, Tarot Card Readings, Drinks, Henna, Smoking paraphernalia.
At the request of some of the PC members who felt a mistake had been made, we reviewed a previous rejection of Sharron Steinbeck 2/20/06 and voted that she is now approved for her jewelry. She will be notified.
The Pc voted to include this statement:
The board has promised that before they overturn the PC there will be a joint meeting with the PC and the board in order to review the product in question. We ask that a meeting such as this be called in regards to Done Hare's Snow Cones. The PC still feels that the snow cones should be allowed.
The PC would also like to bring to the boards attention that on more than one occasion recently, members of the PC have been abused by people who do not like the way that the PC as a group has voted on certain topics.
