Alissa is approved for her handmade clay (fimo, sculpty, whatever) pendants with or without paint.

Jamie is approved for her shell jewelry because of the cap on beaded jewelry she may not sell simple strung shells, each piece must contain an embellished element (for example wire wrapping or glued assemblages)
Will is not
approved for his commercially manufactured T-Shirt. Please see second half of
items discussed section.

will be told that her hand painted signs seem appropriate to our event but the
professionally printed t-shirts and Signs do not, since they are not
handcrafted.
We
discussed the following issues:
Jonathan Croft Submitted a complaint (attached) concerning Beth Hodgin. He asked that the PC review her pendants made from commercially purchased dicroic Glass. He felt she was in violation of what she was juried for.
The jury felt
that, since beth is juried in to wire wrap glass work (at one time she only wire
wrapped glass jewelry) we feel that she is allowed to sell these pendants as
long as they are wire wrapped. The difference between Beth's work and
Johnathan's Work is that Beth must wire wrap all pendants Johnathan can simply
present his hand made pendants with or without chord chain or wire wrapping, If
he wants to.
Michael
Patrick has asked for a more detailed reason why he was rejected for his chain
escape. The following should clarify the PC's decision.
The Board has
given the PC the responsibility to create Guidelines for items which may be sold
by the performers. In response we have the following.
1) Performers who offer items for sale must pay the same fee as artists and must get a State Sales and use Tax ID #.
2) Products must be brought to the P.C. For approval and record keeping of what is being sold on the pier.
3) Only audio (CD, cassette, etc.....) or Video (DVD, Cassette, etc...) of their performance/act can be sold.
4) Sales must be made next to their display within the performers own area.
5) Signs are limited to 1' by 2' and the display is limited to 2' by 2' square at ground level.
6) No hawking. Performers may only mention their items at the hat line.
7)
No items will be offered for donation by performers.
In regards to the section of the lease Page 3 section 8 “CPS shall establish and collect a reasonable fee from vendors artists and those performers who sell commercial products associated with their performance or otherwise” At this time the PC defines the “commercial products” which the performers may sell as the audio and videos of their performance as defined above.
