The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. in Bayview Park.  We had three people show up to be juried.

Our first applicant was James Thompson.  He had juried three or four years ago for books and posters.  After talking with him and viewing what he had we decided that we would not jury him.  His “joke” book was full of advertisement and not something we would consider a “book”.  His poster was of Key West scenes that were collaged onto the poster paper.  He did not want to mat or frame them.  We advised him that he would not be juried.  We did not collect any money from him.

The second was Gary Muzechuk.  He was juried two weeks ago and we had asked him to come back and do a little more work.  After talking with him and seeing him draw we decided that he would be accepted. He was accepted by unanimous vote.  No fee was collected.

The third was Nicki Pinko.  She worked at Mallory about 15 years ago and now wants to return.  She makes “hair sticks”.  She brought photo’s of her cutting out the wood, brought her wood forms, brought many hair sticks in various stages of completion and described each step to us.  She also brought newspaper articles on her handmade hair sticks, which was a very good write up.  Nicki was approved unanimously.  $20.00 jury fee was collected and will be turned over to the pier manager for deposit.
