Minutes of Meeting

July 16, 2007

Approved at the July 18, 2007 Barb Mtg.

Present:

Barb Winko

Ann Summers

Hector Godoy

Meikie Godoy

Joyce Straiton

The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. in Bayview Park.

The first person to show up was a gentleman that I (Barb) had spoken to previously regarding selling coconuts as a food item. I advised him that we would jury him but to save him the $20.00 fee he should first contact the Agricultural Department to find out what he would have to do to become licensed. It is a lengthy process and fairly expensive. That way he could make a decision on whether or not he wanted to go through the process before being juried. He was given the name and phone number to call to get all of this information. He will return to be juried if he wises to go through the cart and licensing process. No action was taken by the PC.

Next we had Michele Meck applying to make soy candles in jars that she will hand paint. She explained the process, showed all the items she will use to make the candles, and demonstrated her painting on the jars and tins. She paid her $20.00 jury fee in cash. Michele was approved by unanimous vote.

Next was Will Soto. He asked to be accepted for t-shirts. We asked if he made them and he stated he did not. We advised him that the Lease and the Guidelines state everything must be hand crafted. He did not fill out an application to be juried and no fee was collected. No action was taken.

Next was Donna Hup. She was applying to sell sea shell engraved with names, places, shapes, designs, etc. on them. Donna demonstrated making the etched shell with lettering and paintings. Donna paid her $20.00 jury fee in cash. Donna was accepted by unanimous vote.

Next, we had Hector Godoy return (he was juried two weeks ago with a home jury included) applying to make seashell, rocks and glass etched with names, designs, etc. He is hand making all of his stencils for his designs. He also sandblasts the rocks for a better design distinction. Since we did not have enough members to vote on Hector (He and his wife Meike excused themselves from voting) we could not make a determination. The three members present will get together with other members (Len Kelly, Melanie Griffis and Elaine DelPino) to discuss Hector’s submission and make a decision at that time. He was tentatively approved at the last meeting but was using store purchased decals and not his own art work so everyone has seen his product except Kelly who was not on PC at the time. If anyone from PC wants to return to his home to do another home jury it will be decided at our gathering and can be done prior to making a final decision. We need to act on this soon as it is not good to make anyone continue to wait to see if their product is approved or not for over two weeks.

Barb will turn in the $40.00 cash from fees to the pier manager for deposit and will get a receipt for the money.

Meeting was adjourned at 12:00 p.m.

A meeting of the PC committee consisting of: Barb W., Melanie G., L. Kelly,

Elaine D. and Dave D. discussed Hector Godoy and the products he applied for. A secret ballot vote was taken and Hector was approved by unanimous vote to sell his products.
