We are asking the Board to give an up-date of our set-up information to the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Key West because we had several applicants that had been misinformed.
We are also asking the Board whether our guideline changes as approved by the general membership in December 2007 have been approved by the City or not. We need to know that way we can operate according to those guidelines.
We went through a list of all the food vendors and the items that they have been juried for. No actions have been taken, we just needed to get a clear picture.
We are making a recommendation to the Board to have Joe Popcorn stay in his assigned spot. Several artists have been commenting on him moving around while selling popcorn thereby influencing the customers’ traffic patterns around the artist booths.
We are aware of the fact that we have recently been jurying a lot of photographers, most of them getting approved. We are currently in a “let’s wait and see” attitude towards possibly imposing a temporary cap on photography. We will base our decision on how many of those juried photographers actually come to the Pier.
