Participation Committee Meeting - Minutes

Attending: Susanne, Vicky, Claudia, Pam, Sara, Hector, Meike


 

Juried were the following:

  1. Melvin Surprise: Soda can roses. Approved 5:2 abstaining

  2. Michael Beaudet & Joseph Courcy: Palm frond weaving, coconut fish, palm tree sail boats. Approved 6:1 abstaining.

  3. Kaitlin Thomas: Screen-printed T-Shirts. Not approved 6:1 abstaining

  4. Terry Davidson: Wooden picture frames. Approved 6:1. Will be notified that he is not allowed to give away pictures (that are not his artwork) included with the frame. Only one picture is allowed for an example. He is encouraged to jury for photography or artwork to be included with the frames.

  5. Subrena Eli: Palm and tarot readings. Approved 4:3 abstaining.

  6. György Papp: Photography. Approved 7:0 pending home jury by Hector and Pamela. He will be informed that he has to stretch his own canvas for the gyclee prints.

  7. Rebecca Berman. Photography. Approved 7:0.

  8. Andy Parsons. Slumped and fused glass. Was told to come back with changed product before we jury. 6:1.

  9. Michele Wildflower. Add-on. Fairy dreads, fairy crowns, fairy tails, wands from ribbons and yarn. Approved 7:0.

  10. Noemi “Ester” Tito. Painted glass. Approved 6:1.

  11. Sharona Setlock. Add-on. Painted or printed grocery bags. Approved 7:0

  12. Pamela Pinholster. Add-on. Magnetic bookmark with her artwork. Approved 6:1 abstaining.

Jury by mail: Lynn Handley. Snap-in Highlights for hair. Pamela will respond by email and discourage her to jury.

There was a lenghty discussion on the new guidelines and the clause about an exact duplication. No actions were taken.

$180 in jury fees were collected.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:30 pm.
