Participation Committee Meeting - Minutes

Attending: Susanne, Vicky, Jason, Pam, Sara, Hector, Meike


 

Juried were the following:

  1. Tim (?): Digital video postcards. No application – referred to the board, no fee collected.

  2. Linda Carpenter: Smoked Meats, homemade sauces and rubs. Approved (7:0). Will start permitting process.

  3. David Henschen: Luthier. Handcrafted electric guitars. No fee collected – referred to the board. Needs amplification in order to have customers play his electric guitar. Is there another amp spot available? Can we set a limit for volume to have him set up in a regular artist spot? We need some board input on this.

  4. Sara Tito: add-on. Jewelry made from painted glass and crochet earrings. Approved (6:0). She has been asked to exhibit her other painted glass items together with the jewelry.


 

Discussion:

  1. Food: Is there a time limit on food items that a food vendor once had been approved for but is not currently selling on the pier. Also, we are supposed to be able to have 10 food vendors. Where are the other food spots located at. We need some clarification on those issues from the board.

  2. Digital art: We are going to have more and more people coming wanting to do some sort of digital art. We need to establish consistent rules for digital media so as not to have to take decisions on a case to case-basis. Should we establish a committee dedicated to this issue to get input from the general membership.

  3. Our website needs updating on some information. Pamela had been approached and would be happy to help with it.


 

$20 in jury fees were collected.
