We began jurying at 10:00 a.m.

We juried ten new applicants and two add a products.

Barb and Fran home juried here for her candles on February 16th. She was approved for selling her candles at Mallory Square. No fee was collected as she had paid at her first PC meeting.
  2. Geoffrey Reis came to the committee for the third time. He wants to sell cotton candy but did not bring anything to make his product in front of the committee. He argued with the committee members with threat of a law suit. He demanded that the committee give him a reason in writing why he could not be approved. He was advised to go to the Board Meeting on February 17th at 10:00 a.m. at the Gato Building to discuss his issues with the Board. $20.00 fee paid.

They were approved by unanimous vote pending the home jury for their pottery but were denied jewelry.. They have been approved. $20.00 fee paid.
  5. Mark Watts juried for handcrafted mini treasure boxes and other types of wooden boxes. He makes these from vintage wood trunks and boxes that he takes apart and restores the wood. He demonstrated making the boxes and tries to replicate how they were made originally. Passed with unanimous vote. $20.00 fee paid.
  6. Rose Caballes and Cam Melangton juried in as partners. She and Cam brought their paintings and coconut paintings. Since her application only reflected the painted coconuts and they did not bring supplies to paint anything else, we only juried them for the coconuts and advised that they could return to another meeting and add a product upon painting in front of the committee. They will each have to do this. They we approved by unanimous vote for painted coconuts. $20.00 fee paid.
  7. Arlene Peters juried for handmade aprons and fused glass earrings. She did not bring pictures or anything to make her product in front of the committee. She was advised to bring the items needed to produce her product to the next committee meeting. She was advised that the earrings would not be accepted as they are over represented on the pier. $20.00 fee paid. No vote was taken.
  8. Mark Mizner applied to sell his paintings on silk and acrylic paintings. He also applied to sell prints of his original paintings. Mark demonstrated his painting on silk to us and showed us his various paintings and prints. He was advised that prints have to be matted and if using a pre made matt must have hand work applied to it. Passed by unanimous vote. $20.00 fee paid by check.
  9. Kim Most applied to sell child play capes. She brought her products to show us, the handmade pattern, capes that had been cut out and pinned together, capes that were partially sewn and completed capes. She did not bring her sewing machine to demonstrate her skills to us. She also wanted to be juried as a partnership with Jenifer Eichenlaub. We advised that she would have to return to the next PC meeting and demonstrate her making the items. She advised that she did not actually do the sewing but that her partner did. We decided not to take a vote on this and have her and her partner return to the PC meeting in March so they could both demonstrate to the committee. $20.00 fee paid.
  10. Jonathan King and David Goodfellow applies as a partnership to sell a drink called Kava. They did not bring anything with them to demonstrate how they made this item. We advised them that they must return to the next PC meeting and make their product in from of the PC. At that time we would advise them if this is something we would consider or not. We also advised them that they would have to make a cart, the design approved by the PC, get state licenses and then return for final approval. No vote was taken. $20 fee paid.
  11. Vicki Damon juried earlier for her silk paintings and prints of her paintings. She did not show her prints at that time so we considered this an add a product. She also presented card with pictures of her prints on them. We viewed the prints and cards and by unanimous vote approved her prints of her original paintings. The cards were denied by unanimous vote. No fee for add a product.
  12. Barb Winko applied again (she applied at the last PC meeting but there was not a quorum present) for silversmithed jewelry. Barb left the meeting while the remaining four members discussed the issue. Barb was approved by a unanimous vote of the four remaining members. No fee for add a product.
