Participation Committee Meeting
March 15, 2010
Present: Leeanne M, Melanie G, Ron A, Trish P, Fran D, Barb W.
Susan J. asked to be excused
The meeting began around 10:00 a.m. in Bayview Park. We had five people show
up and one jury by mail.
- Rondini provided a copy of his CD for PC Members to review. Barb W. and
Melanie G. viewed them prior to the meeting. He will be selling this item at
sunset. He acknowledged that he must have a tax number and pay a set up fee
each night. Not required to pay a fee.
- Denise Graham came to the meeting with her supplies to show us how she
makes her switch plate covers. She uses fimo clay and does cane work to make
the adornments. Denise paid a $20.00 jury fee. She was approved by unanimous
vote.
- Rob Goldwitz arrived for an-add-a product, therefore no fee was
collected. Rob brought a "cube" that opens in various ways to show different
photos. He is using his own photography but advised the PC that he has
someone else do the work. He was denied by unanimous vote.
- Linda McCall sent in an add-a-product with Barb W. She wants to make
sculptures from fimo clay. The PC felt that this product is very different
from what she is already selling that she would need to return to
demonstrate for us. No vote was taken. No fee was collected.
- Steve Dickstein arrived with his partners, Meryl and Halle. They were
approved by the PC last year for their product, and cart pending licensing.
They just needed to demonstrate how they make their product, which they did
and let everyone have a sample. They were approved by unanimous vote. No fee
was collected since they had paid last year.
The PC held discussions regarding the re-jurying of participants. It was
decided that the way PC wants to handle it is by having a written complaint,
notifying the Pier Manager of the complaint and give it to him/her. The Pier
Manager would then notify the participant that they needed to be re-juried
and advise them of the time and place for this to happen. The PC would then
do the jurying by either having them demonstrate again how they make their
product, and/or bring copies of their invoices for their raw products. This
was passed by a 5-1 vote.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:00 p.m.
