PC Minutes of 5-2-11

Six members were present at the meeting: Jeffrey, Eddie, Ron, Melanie, Dragana and Harriet

Two new applications and three add ons were in attendance.

  1. LeeAnne McCarthy was unanimously approved to add on her photography in matted frames that she cuts herself. Previously she was approved only for photos displayed in lobster trap frames but now we feel that she should be able to offer the photos in any sop approved format such as hand cut mats, embellished store bought mats or other such as the recycled lobster trap frames.

  2. JoAnne Hasman was approved to add on her cat prints as painted original posters as well as on the T-shirts as she has previously done. This will be original art of her same character and silkscreen design.

  3. Lothar Speer was approved to add on to his caricature drawings- paintings of the evenings sunsets. He will offer to paint that evening’s sunsets on various sizes of canvas and such as well as have on hand sunsets of previous dates.

  4. Mike and Lisa Hancox were approved to offer their wooden painted signs. They have three or more basic styles-a conch thermometer theme , a mile zero theme and a paddle and surfboard that are hand carved from balsa wood and painted and personalized for customers on the spot. Other than the carved Balsa-the other wood is either recycled scrap or new and cut and painted and they use conch shells and rope to offer a nautical theme for hanging and decoration. And all can be personalized on the spot for the customer.

  5. Lurey Talor was approved to offer her glass and shell mobiles, wind chimes and other hanging items. She uses driftwood and broken glass beach glass that she sometimes tumbles to remove sharp edges. Beads and shells are also incorporated into the stringing of the items. She also does airplants with glass and seed pods or coconuts and incotrporates the glass and beads into the the string to suspend same. She was told however that these are the only items approved and that she is not allowed to make jewelry of any kinfrd to offer for sale at the sunset, as she admits to making jewelry in the past. This po8int was clearly made to her and agreed upon for future reference.

Then the committee discussed the grievance filed by Harriet regarding Elaine Delphino. Of note neither Elaine nor Shawn were present. That decision is has been kept under wraps and was presented in letter form to be presented to the Board on 5-4-11 at the regular board meeting.
