Pc minutes from 12/5/11
There were six members present-jeffrey, eddy, dragana, ron, melanie, and
harriet. Four new applications were in attendance.
1)michelle iglesias and torran bagamarcy were approved pending their
home jury visit to witness the manufacturing of their products. They
offer peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, grilled and otherwise, as well
as cookies, ricecakes, and fudge-all peanut butter flavor of course.
They currently operate a restaurant on duval street and would like to
join us on the pier. They also offer the homemade peanut butter and four
flavors of jelly/jams for sale. They have all their agricultue and
health department paperwork in order and have submitted a cart design
which they will have fabricated once they are approved.
2) bill schult was also approved pending a shop visit to witness his
manufacture of his two product lines. He makes tote and dive bags made
from canvas and/or sail material.
He also makes picture frames in a ship porthole motif, all circular and
with plexiglass
faces. He makes several wooden models, stained and/or paintedas well as
a mahogany model, in addition to a fiberglass model.
3)Gomze Ozcan was approved for her freehand henna tatoo art.
4) Kristen McNamara -aka kmac-was approved for her singing and guitar
playing in order to sell her cd of her songs mostly written in and about
key west and she also is very creative as an artist and paints as well
as other arts. She works already in several bar venues locally but has
expressed to us and to her managers and producers of her interest in
being based in key west and being part of the pier family(though her
recordings are produced in new york and la). We welcome her energy and
creativity and feel she is a great addition to the pier. I have a copy
of her cd if anyone is interested in listening. By the way she did the
artwork on the covers.
Lastly we discussed completing the participant category lists so that we
can present them to the new pc committee by the first of the new year.
Also another item is that we feel the issue of the cigar cake cart
setting up on the ramp versus the water side needs to be addressed, that
is was supposed to be temporary because of the wind. Being that high
winds are typical this time of year, we feel that he needs to correct
the problem on his cart, rather than arbitrarily moving sideways on the
ramp.
Thanks for your time and consideration.
Yours truly,
Jeffrey kaplan
