PC Minutes 07-07-14

PC members in Attendance:   Ryan Stimers, Terry Riley, Joyce Straiton, Susanne Buxton,                                                                                                                                         Debby Petersen, and Ron Augustine

1)         Liz Lee demonstrated Photo-shop, for her to include into her art on rocks.  She is not approved. The style of her photo-shop work is different than her other art style and we did not feel the demonstration showed it to be her art.

2)         Jeremy Snyder applied for gemstones/rocks, which he will cut into sculptural shapes.  The rocks have been mined/collected by himself.  We approved his rocks pending a home jury by Susanne and Ryan.  Ryan will be his mentor.

3)         Alissa Mealor applied for add-a-product, Henna Making kits: lemon spray, henna powder, tea mixture, and waxy preservative. She is approved.

4)         Terry Mealor applied for original oil and acrylic paintings in handmade frames and prints, and is approved.  He also applied for Henna, and is approved.

5)         Brent McGibbon applied for selling his books, which he hand covers in leather. He is approved, and Terry will be his mentor.

**        Nicky Mann was previously approved for products (excluding jewelry) decorated in laminated wood, but her acceptance hadn’t been put into the minutes.

**        Carolyne Guyer applied by mail for leather masks.  We gave her positive feedback and invited her to jury.

**        Teo wants to do Wax Hands.  She hasn’t ordered the expensive melting machine yet.  We told her that she should bring a video of the machine to answer some more questions so we can get better feedback from us.  Then she can decide to order the machine and demonstrate to us when it arrives.

**        We discussed John Anthony’s application to make pizza.  He was home juried by Joyce and Debby.  He was only prepared to spin pizza dough, add toppings, and put it in the oven.  When he was asked to demonstrate making the dough, this upset him.  When finally convinced that it was necessary, he had a hard time with the recipe, he didn’t know how to turn on the kneading machine, and it appeared that mostly Luigi will be making the product, not John.  We came to a decision, then vote, that if he and Luigi were partners, we would like to approve the product.  We would like feedback from the Board.

****    We want to ask the Board if we can give decisions immediately, or do we still have to wait for their approval.
