PC Meeting 1-18-16

PC Members Present: Linda, Ron, Melanie, Joanne, Randesh

Suzanne Silva: burned out designs on bikini bottoms

Suzanne does all the cut outs by hand using a heat tool. She says she designs the fabric prints and swimwear but it is all manufactured and not made by her. She has a great company, MPrint (an LLC in California) but this is a commercial product. The cutouts she makes are basic designs.

PC Recommendation: Turn down, minimal hand process by her.

Scott and Veronica Freeman: lobster trap scrap coasters, key hangups and key chains

They use scrapped/broken lobster traps pieces and make the rustic items above. Demonstrated construction of coasters and showed finished products. Coasters had pictures (his) and a few painted ones. Key hangups had no art of their own embellished on them, nor did the key chains

PC Recommendation: Initial turn down but invite back to the Feb. 1 meeting. It’s a great concept and unique. Invite them back to the Feb. 1 meeting with proof the pictures/images used were theres via review of computer files and equipment, and ask them to embellish the items using a wood burner (as we discussed with them) or paint.

Other PC Business:

Discussion of the review of the yearly food vendor licenses. We currently have 10 active food vendors and 1 who hasn’t been out (Kim) for a while. Need copies/view Dave and Jan’s licenses and a current copy of Holy Guacamole’s permit. Everyone else in compliance. Linda will find Kim’s email address and ask her to send a copy of her permit. Will check with Dave and Jan when they return to pier.

Copies of applications and SOPs: As discussed at a past PC meeting, our current application has links to our website pages with needed information on set up (2 part application, they keep top part with receipt of fee and the website links). We’d like to create a packet of information for all new comers to receive from the pier manager when they first work the pier. This packet would have the release form and printed copy of the SOPs. This would ensure that any participant (Arts/Crafts/Food and Performer) has the SOPs in hand from the first night. Copies can be obtained at 11 cents per page in town, or ordered online at 5 cents a page. Estimated cost each month would average out to under $20. A PC member would submit receipt to the Board for reimbursement of costs.
